2023 Summer Tennis Clinic closes as Ondo governor’s wife commits to sustenance of initiative

Wife of Ondo State Governor and Founder of Ondo State Summer Tennis Clinic Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, has said she is confident that the initiative will stand the test of time .

She spoke during the closing ceremony of the 6th edition of the Ondo 2023 Summer Tennis Clinic which was held at Akure Recreational Club Tennis Court, Oke-Eda, in the state capital.

The 320 children who were trained during the Summer Tennis Clinic have received their certificates.

The week-long training of participants of the summer tennis clinic came to a climax with a closing ceremony.

Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu represented by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Gender research and Documentation Temitope Daniyan expressed joy at the progress the initiative has made and its impact on people’s lives over the years.

She appreciated the planning committee for ensuring that the tennis clinic was a success and thanked the Chairman of the closing ceremony for the support he has been giving the initiative.

Chairman of the closing ceremony Mr Olumuyiwa Adu lauded the First Lady for her initiatives and her passionate efforts to improve the plights of the less privileged.

The Chairman Planning Committee Mrs Olamide Falana said the participants have gained a lot over the course of the training as she charged their parents to ensure that they keep practicing.

The Commissioner for Youths and Sports Bamidele Ologunloluwa said the wife of the Governor always habour good thoughts about the State while he lauded the initiative.

He described tennis as a lucrative sports if participants get to play in the global space.

Highlights of the event include a Tennis Exhibition match between chairman planning committee Olamide Falana and the Chairman on the Closing Ceremony Olumuyiwa Adu , the participants between ages 4-6 showcased what they’ve been taught during the course of their training.
