OSRC MEDIA GROUP BOOKS NEXT ROUND WITH WALKOVER WIN

The Ondo State Radiovision Corporation (OSRC) Media Group football team has secured a place in the next round of the Ondo State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) 50th Anniversary and 2026 Press Week Football Competition after recording a 3–0 walkover victory over Federated Chapel.

The organisers awarded OSRC Media Group three points and three goals after Federated Chapel failed to appear at the scheduled kick-off time at the seven-a-side pitch of the Ondo State Sports Complex.

Speaking to his players after the walkover, OSRC Technical Assistant, Olumide Adeluwoye, commended the team for its commitment, discipline and readiness.

He urged the players to remain mentally and physically prepared, stressing that the next round would require greater intensity and determination.

Adeluwoye disclosed that training would resume on Thursday to improve the team’s tactical organisation and fitness as they await their next opponent.

In another encounter, the Ondo State Printing and Publishing Corporation (OSPPC), publishers of THE HOPE, also advanced to the next round after defeating Digital Chapel 2–1 on penalties.

The match had ended 1–1 at regulation time before OSPPC secured victory in the shootout.

The football competition is one of the activities organised to commemorate the NUJ Ondo State Council’s 50th Anniversary and 2026 Press Week.
