Activities for Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s second term inauguration will begin tomorrow with a lecture to be delivered by the President of the African Development Bank, Dr Akinwumi Adesina at the international culture abd events’ center, the Dome in Akure.
The theme of the lecture is ‘Towards a New Nigeria: From Federal Fatherism to a Commonwealth’.

Dr Akinwumi Adesina had previously served as Nigeria’s Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.
He was elected President of the African Development Bank in 2015 and re-elected for a second term in 2020 and he is the first Nigerian to hold the position.
He was cited as one of the top 100 most influential and has won many honours in accordance with his meritorious achievements in Nigeria and Africa at large.
Speaking about the choice of the AfDB President as guest lecturer for the inauguration, the secretary of the planning committee, Mr Kunle Adebayo said Dr Adesina’s choice was to engender conversation that can lessen the tension amongst constituents of the country.
He said the call for restructuring across the nation was the basis of the topic.
Mr Adebayo added that the debate on true federalism will help the nation to overcome her challenges.
