United States of America-based Nigerian actress, Toyin Haastrup has said her relocation to the US and her career as an actress cost her a long-term relationship.

In a statement she said, “In my journey in life, I don’t regret anything. If whatever I planned does not come happen as I planned, I learn from it and move on. One of the sacrifices I made as a woman and actress is that if I had not left Nigeria for the US, I’m sure I would have got married or become a popular star. The biggest sacrifice was losing my long-term relationship as a result of my relocation and the fact that I am an actress.

“I was opportuned to feature in a film titled, ‘Osumare’, in which I played my first major role. It brought me to the limelight, and I was nominated alongside some notable actors to perform in a stage play in the US. That was how my journey to the US happened.”

Haastrup who is also an American citizen, has produced two movies titled, “Feranmi” and “Stripper”.

The graduate of Mass Communication from the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ogun State, also noted that her relocation to the US was a ‘twist of fate’ that played out in her favour.
