The pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere says strategic and deliberate steps should be taken by government to address the recent agitations of the youth across the country.
At its national leadership caucus meeting held in Akure, the Ondo state capital, the group said the recent endsars protests and youth agitations against police brutality and misgovernance was as a a result of long time neglect of citizens by the ruling class.
In a communiqué read by the Publicity Secretary, Yinka Odumakin, Afenifere said the federal government should as a matter of urgency open all borders to lessen the economic hardship being experienced by the people on a daily basis.
He said the group equally frowned at the incessant invasion of Chief Olu Falae’s farm by herders, stressing that urgent steps should be taken to address the situation.
The meeting also resolved that there is need for the nation to embrace restructuring to solve the myraid of challenges confronting her.
