AT THE INCEPTION OF THE AKEREDOLU ADMINISTRATION ONE OF THE FIRST DECISIONS WAS TO HOST AN EDUCATION SUMMIT.

THE INTENTION WAS TO EVALUATE THE STATE OF THE SECTOR WITH A VIEW TO STRENGTHENING IT BECAUSE OF ITS STRATEGIC PLACE IN THE DEVELOPMENT EQUATION.

ORANGE FMS OLUMIDE ADELUWOYE REPORTS THAT ONE OF THE SORE POINTS OF THE BRIEFING THE GOVERNOR GOT AT INCEPTION WAS THE STATE OF OSUSTECH.

The Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology is located at Igodan – Lisa in Okitipupa local government area of the state and by 2009 the university was beginning to take shape infrasturally, and command academic respect.

However the trend of development of the institution was cut short when the administration of Dr. Olusegun Agagu came to a halt, consequent upon the decision of an election tribunal which ruled that Dr. Olusegun Mimiko should take over as Governor.

Some former students of the institution, Yemi Olasehinde and Toyosi Fatokun who spoke with Orange Fm Said the situation of the institution was in a sorry state until the present administration came on board.

A former commissioner for education in Ondo State, Jide Adejuyigbe said the Mimiko government tried it’s best by accrediting various courses for the institution.

Mr. Adejuyigbe said it is untrue that the then government abandoned the school and crippled it from functioning effectively.

Special adviser to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on transportation, Tobi Ogunleye insisted that the immediate past administration paid little or no attention to the development of the science-based university in the area of infrastructure.

When Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu visited the University at the inception of his administration he was shocked at the state of the infrastructure.
