The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has expressed sadness over the tragic accident that occured on Saturday around the State-owned
Adekunle Ajasin University, in Akungba Akoko.
In a statement, the party sympathises with the bereaved families, and the university community over the tragedy, while praying God to grant the victims eternal rest.
The publicity secretary of the APC in Ondo State Alex Kalejaye said the pain of losing a dear soul is enormous and that losing a student, on whom the struggling parents must have expended so much resources and time, could better be imagined.
He therefore appealed to owners of trucks and articulated vehicles to ensure that their vehicles are in good condition before putting them on the road for commercial engagements.
Kalejaye also stressed the need to ensure that drivers are trained, and cautioned against all forms of recklessness, particularly within towns and cities.
The statement urged the Ministry of Works to consider constructing bumps along that road, and others that constantly put the lives of our people in danger, to compel reduction in speed of articulated vehicles.
