The Centre for Transparency Advocacy (CTA) has expressed great delight about the turn out of voters for the Info state governirship election
At a post election press conference in Akure, the Executive Director of CTA Faith Nwadishi said it is an indication that the country’s democracy is maturing fast
Oluseye Akinwalere reports that in line with its decision to monitor the Ondo State Governorship election the Center Centre for Transparency Advocacy deployed 40 roving field observers and 180 citizen observers to all the nooks and crannies of the state
The CTA observed that despite the pre-election violence, the electorate were significantly present in all 3009 polling units to cast their ballots.
Tthe Programme Manager of CTA, Mr Macdonalds Ekemezie who represented thee organization’s Executive Director commended INEC for its improved conduct as most electoral officers and materials got to polling units on time.
Mr Ekemezie however urged security agencies to remain on their toes to avoid any form of violence after results are announced.
He however frowned at the disregard of the electorate for the covid-19 protocols while exercising their franchise.
