Deji of Akure frowns at activities of hoodlums, calls for trust between government and citizen

The Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi has frowned at unwarranted killing, maiming of innocent people and destruction of property in Akure Kingdom, which is a fallout of the EndSARS protest that engulfed major cities and towns.

In a statement, Oba Aladetoyinbo appealed for restraint from any further protest which might lead to further attacks by hoodlums who had hijacked the once peaceful protest in Akure and other parts of the state.

The monarch said goverment and security agencies should expedite action on apprehending all the miscreants who took advantage of the last protest to wreak havoc, destroying private and government property and looting public and private establishments across the state.

He commended Governor Akeredolu for his proactive measure towards compensating those who lost their valuables to the crisis, and pledged the throne’s support for government’s effort at apprehending criminals with a view to visiting the full wrath of the law on them.

Oba Aladetoyinbo appreciated the youths of Akure who came together notwithstanding their political cleavages to salvage the situation.
