Enyimba captain Austin Oladapo and striker Tosin Omoyele were on target as the Aba giants came from a goal down to beat Algerian side ES Setif 2-1 in front of 200 fans in Aba in a CAF Confederation Cup match-day three fixture.

The two-time CAF Champions League winners fell behind in the 13th minute as the visitors took the lead through Monsef Bakrar.

Enyimba then missed a chance to restore parity four minutes later as Oladapo failed to score from the penalty spot

Oladapo however made amends in the 40th minute when he grabbed the equaliser with a fine finish.

Exciting winger Anayo Iwuala showed his class, dribbling past three Setif defenders, before finding Omoyele who coolly slotted home from close range to put the People’s Elephant 2-1 up.

The win was Enyimba’s second in the group stage, after they defeated Libya’s Al Ahly Benghazi 2-1 in their opening Group A fixture at home.

The Nigerian side will play Setif next Sunday in the group’s reverse fixture.

A win for Enyimba, Nigeria’s sole campaigners in CAF club competitions will boost their chances of qualifying for the quarter-finals of the competition.
