Fifteen thousand widows benefit from Mrs Akeredolu’s widows care initiative

As Ondo Widows’ Care Palliatives tour to the eighteen local government areas of the state came to a close, no fewer than 15,000 women have benefited from the support initiative of the Governor’s wife.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Gender Research and Documentation, Mrs Temitope Daniyan who represented the First Lady at Ikare Akoko in Akoko North East council area expressed fulfilment that the gesture had gone round its’targeted beneficiaries.

Oluseye Akinwalere reports that the Ondo Widows care initiative took off at Akure North local government area where over 1500 widows were presented with food items

The initiative was devoid of status, political affiliation, religious beliefs and all forms of Social class issues to ensure that all vulnerable people benefited

Ikare Akoko in Akoko North East hosted the 18th and last distribution where 800 widows benefited.

The Governor’s wife announced that the second phase of the exercise would be unveiled in no distant time.

Widows who benefited at Ikare Akoko were excited about the items they got from Arabinrin Betty Anyawu-Akeredolu.
