Former police commissioner, Adetuyi advises Federal Government to seek international assistance in tackling crime



A former commissioner of police in Yobe state, Mr Samuel Adetuyi has enjoined the federal government to seek international assistance in tackling all forms of crime in Nigeria.

Adetuyi who stated this while featuring on Orange FM’s Current Affairs programme Policy Talk said the issue of insecurity must be handled holistically.

The former police boss who is also a lawyer described high unemployment rate as one of the greatest issues leading to kidnapping, maiming abd banditry among other heinous crimes.

He also backed the call for total restructuring of the country stressing that it will bring about healthy competition among federating units, and desired development to the country.

Mr Adetuyi who lauded governors of South West and South East states for setting up security outfits to fight crime in the their regions called for more synergy with existing security agencies in the nation.
