Governor Akeredolu dedicates electoral victory to God

Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu says the renewal of his mandate in the just concluded governorship election is an eloquent testimony to the degree of his acceptance by the people, and appreciation of his modest contribution to the development of the state.

Akeredolu who stated this in his victory speech at his Owo residence said his re-election affirms that the confidence reposed in his administration remains unshaken.

Government house correspondent, Joseph Ikugbonmire reports that Chairman of the APC National Campaign Council, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Kogi Governor, Yaya Bello and his Osun state counterpart Gboyega Oyetola were in attendance to celebrate with the Governor.

Governor Akeredolu who started his victory speech with praises to God for the peaceful exercise across the 18 council areas said his reelection is a challenge to him for rededication to service in the interest of the people

Akeredolu who noted that the resounding victory of the APC throws an open challenge to all stakeholders not to choose the path of complacency stressed that the few dissenting voices have been heard and their grievances will be addressed genuinely.

While emphasising that his government shall continue to focus on the development of the state, Akeredolu said he won’t be distracted in the discharge of his sacred mandate.

He maintained that the people will continue to be at the centre of all decisions as he will continue with his administrative style which promotes transparency and accountability.

The Governor lauded INEC and security agencies for their patience throughout the exercise as well as the people of Ondo state for demonstrating their uncommon love for his administration.

He equally thanked President Muhammadu Buhari, his Vice, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Chairman of the APC extra-ordinary National Convention Committee, Mai Mala Buni as well as APC governors and other leaders of the party.

The Governor congratulated the PDP candidate, Eyitayo Jegede for participating in the process stressing that his patriotism is not in doubt as he is a worthy competitor

Akeredolu later moved round Owo, his hometown along with the Deputy Governor-Elect, Lucky Aiyedatiwa to appreciate the people for their support.
