Governor Akeredolu mourns legal icon, Prof David Ijalaye



Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has described the death of legal scholar and Emeritus Professor, David Ijalaye, SAN as a colossal loss to the legal profession, academia and the country at large.

While commiserating with the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile -Ife where Ijalaye spent almost all his life as an academic giant, Governor Akeredolu described him as a rare gem who devoted more than five decades of his life to the teaching and practice of law.

He also commiserated with the family and the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA).

Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Richard Olatunde said Akeredolu however found solace in the fact that the great scholar left an indelible mark on the country’s legal firmament, particularly through his service to humanity in consulting and counseling at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife even after his retirement.
