Governor Akeredolu pledges greater commitment to Sports development in 2nd term

The Akeredolu administration says it will do more to develop Sports in its second term because of the relevance of Sports to youth development

The Governor while addressing a dinner event to climax the commemorative golf tournament for his second term inauguration said sports can help engage the teeming youths in the state.

Orange FM’s Olumide Adeluwoye reports that Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu said his administration would have taken sports beyond it’s present level in the last four years but for the constraint of funds.

He assured that this time, the private sector would be vigorously wooed to see the sector in the state as profitable to invest in.

The Governor who expressed delight that golf is becoming a very popular sport in the state pledged his administration’s determination to develop the Idanre golf course.

Earlier, the chairman of the Aketi 2021 Golf Tournament, Rear Admiral Sanmi Alade (Rtd) thanked the government for creating a conducive environment for Sports

to thrive in the state through such efforts as ensuring security of lives and property in the state.

Alade who described the Governor as a fearless and honest man said he possesses rare qualities which have made him a rallying point for the progressives.

The captain of the Smokin Hills Golf course, Gboye Adegbenro said Governor Akeredolu is piloting the affairs of the state very well.

The Governor was accompanied to the event by the the Deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, his Chief of Staff, Chief Gbenga Ale and other eminent personalities.
