Gunman Kills Police Near French Embassy In Tanzania



President Samia Suluhu Hassan has said that a man has been shot dead after killing three police officers and an employee of a private security company near the French embassy with his gun in the Tanzanian commercial capital Dar es Salaam.

In his comments on his social media page, the president explained that after the attacker was neutralised, cealm has returned.

Inspector General of Police Simon Sirro said police were trying to identify the attacker in a short video in a bid to know his motives which now remained unknown.

Police around the French mission and a nearby bank tried to stop the gunman who was yelling that he wanted to kill police officers.

Six other officers were wounded in the gun attack according to head of police operations Liberatus Sabas.
