INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu meets critical Stakeholders in Akure ahead October 10 governorship polls

Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, , Professor Mahmood Yakubu has arrived Akure the ondo state capital in preparation for next month’s governorship election in the state.

Briefing newsmen upon his arrival at the Akure airport, Professor Yakubu said necessary measures have been put in place to ensure the governorship election billed for October 10 is hitch free.

Yakubu said in the course of his three day visit he will meet with stakeholders including INEC staff, security agencies, the media and traditional rulers among others to brainstorm on how best to conduct a successful exercise.

He explained that the new card readers from Oyo state have arrived the state and will be reconfigured as well as used in place of those that were damaged at the commission’s office recently.

Orange FM’s Joseph Ikugbonmire reports that six national commissioners accompanied the
commission’s boss to the state.
