Joseph Ayo Bablola University( JABU) Ikeji Arakeji, Osun State is set to graduate 430 students at it’s 11th convocation ceremony holding this week

The Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kola Sonaike, stated this during the Press conference to usher in convocation activities.

Oluseye Akinwalere reports that Professor Sonaike said out of the number, 395 students would be given first-degree certificates across undergraduate programmes.

This comprises 21 with first class honours and 181 with Second class honours.

157 will graduate with second class lower grade, 36 with third class while 4 will graduate with Postgraduate Diploma and 31 with Masters Degree.

He said the best graduating student, Miss Esther Adebusola Fashola from the Department of Mass Commination had a CGPA of 4.89.

The university is also honouring four personalities in Nigeria who have actively engaged themselves in various fields of human endeavor.

Sonaike described the university as one that prioritises entrepreneurship and which is commited to community service.

On resumption of students amidst covid-19 scourge, Professor Sonaike said protocols to stem the pandemic is already a life style as the school compound has been fumigated and there is Campus Police to bring to book erring students and staff

He assured that the academic session has not been altered by the Covid-19 break, as students continued learning through online platforms during the break.

The Vice Chancellor added that the University is devising other means to properly educate students such as getting a licenced radio station for the university.

The Registrar Wale Aderibigbe said Convocation ceremony will be held in line with the covid 19 guidelines.

Other activities lined up for the 11th convocation ceremony include reunion, convocation lecture while the conferment of bachelor’s degree, postgraduate and honorary degrees will come up on Friday, 22nd January 2021
