Kanu, Ihezuo arrive Falcons camp, Demehin, Macleans expected today

The Nigeria Football Federation has confirmed that forwards Uchenna Kanu and Chinwendu Ihezuo landed in Spain and joined the Super Falcons’ camp in Sevilla on Thursday afternoon, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

The arrival of both players brought the number of Falcons in camp to 20, with only defender Oluwatosin Demehin and forward Chinonyerem Macleans still expected as the nine-time African champions intensified preparations for their return to the Women’s Olympic football tournament.

According to the NFF, both players will arrive at the team’s Hotel Barceló Montecastillo Golf and Resort on Friday afternoon.

The Falcons camp opened in Spanish City last Friday but didn’t hold any training sessions until Sunday due to the small number of players in camp but a full camp by Friday (today) means coach Randy Waldrum and his assistants will have five days to work with the entire playing body, as well as the alternates, ahead of Wednesday’s training match with reigning Olympic champions Canada.
