NBA, Owo branch honours Akeredolu with naming of Bar complex

Nigerian Bar Association, Owo Branch has commissioned its Bar complex named after Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu who is the branch’s grand patron to mark his 65th birthday.

The first female Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Chief Folake Solanke who was the special guest of honour commissioned the complex describing the edifice as monumental.

Orange FM’s Olumide Adeluwoye reports that the library arm of the complex has been named after the former Chief of Protocol to the governor, Late Tosin Ogunbodede.

Chief Sholanke rejoiced with the NBA, Owo branch for successfully executing the project, urging the branch to maintain the edifice to continue to serve its purpose.

She called on members to rededicate themselves to the rule of law and rescue the country from the cycle of corruption which has eaten deep into the fabric of the nation.

Solanke appealed to senior lawyers to support their learned juniors.

In his address, the chairman of NBA, Owo branch, Mr. Olatunbosun Aganun appreciated the Governor for doing so much for the legal profession and particularly the Bar at the national and local levels.

Chairman on the occasion, Chief Akinlolu Olujimi thanked Governor Akeredolu for his efforts at uplifting the law profession in state.

He enjoined government and all stakeholders to work hand in glove to clamp down on insecurity in the country.

Also, the NBA President, Mr. Olumide Akpata said the complex is a legacy project that would go a long way for the present and future generations in the law profession.

In a lecture title the roles of the bar and lawyers, Chief Joe – Kyari Gadzama called for the amendment of the constitution most especially on the issue of state police saying the time is now for the amendment to take place.

In his remarks, Governor Akeredolu said giving back to the Law Profession has become his life style, stressing that it is borne out of passion and dedication.

He appreciated everyone who joined him to celebrate his 65th birthday saying all thanks to God who had brought him thus far in the journey of life.

Arakunrin Akeredolu did the investiture of the royal patron of the branch, Oba Gbadegesin Ogunoye and life patrons of the branch, Justice Adeniran Adejumo and Pastor Segun Olugboyegun.

Other awardees included Governors of Edo, Ekiti and Kogi States, Secretary to Ondo State Governmment, Princess Oladunni Odu; Chief Folake Solanke; Ooni Of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, Alayede of Ayede Ogbese, Oba Olaleye Oluyede; Chief Akinlolu Olujimi among others

Governor Akeredolu who was supported by his wife, Arabinrin Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu then cut the birthday cake.
