Nigeria Union of Pensioners honours Governor Akeredolu

Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Ondo state chapter has conferred on Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu the award of Most pensioner-friendly governor.

The award was in recognition of his commitment to the development of the union in the state.

Orange FM’s Odunayo odeja reports that the honor was bestowed on the governor at the official commissioning of an ultra modern pensioners Events’ center and chalets to mark this year’s pensioner’s forum in Akure.

Acting Chairman of NUP in Ondo state, Dapo Salami appreciated Governor Akeredolu for his support, especially the implementation of 33 percent increase in monthly pension.

The National President of the union, Mr Abel Afolayan equally appreciated governor Akeredolu’s giant strides on security of lives.

In his response Governor Akeredolu who was represented by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Finance, Mr Victor Olajorin said government is proud of the union and pledged his unwavering support towards achieving their goals.

Akeredolu said his administration will continue to put smiles on the faces of pensioners in the state.

Other awardess including the Head of Service, Dare Aragbaiye, the NlC chairman Sunday Adeleye and daughter of the late Akinsola Adetuwo appreciated the union for counting them worthy.
