Nigerians enjoined to adhere to Covid-19 protocols to curtail pandemic



As the world battles with covid-19 pandemic, stakeholders have charged government and all citizens to ensure adherence to all laid down precautionary measures.

Orange FM’s Oluwanifemi Adebayo reports that the new strain of covid-19 known as Delta Variant which first broke out in India is now ravaging the world and it kills faster than the previous ones.

The Covid-19 pandemic was declared a public health emergency of international concern on 30th of January last year and a pandemic on 11th March of the same year.

The World health Organization requests all countries to adopt an approach built around comprehensive strategies to prevent the infections.

While speaking on how people disregard covid19 protocols, a medical practitioner Dr Kayode advocated more enlightenment especially at the grassroots.

A public affairs analyst, Mr Lekan Olajobi urged government to be more strigent on the laid down protocols towards curbing the spread.

While speaking on the capacity of Nigeria to withstand another lockdown, an economist, Mr Adeola Imani said the country’s economy is too fragile.

Residents who aired their opinion on the negligence of citizens towards the covid-19 protocols has this to said the citizens need more awareness and government action.

It is believed that if government and citizens work hand in glove to curb the spread, Nigeria will become covid-19 free.
