Normalcy returns to Ondo state after days of hijacked #EndSARS protests



Normalcy has finally returned to Akure, Ondo state capital after days of unrest across the state as a result of the Endsars protest which was hijacked by hoodlums

Orange FM’s Gbenga Oluwajana who went round town reports that there is now free flow of vehicular and human movement with business activities returning gradually.

The state capital which was deserted due to the civil unrest that greeted the Endsars protest hijacked by arsonists and other hoodlums and the curfew declared by the state government is now coming to life as some people yesterday opened their shops and other places of business.

At road block junction of the Ilesa-Owo expressway in Akure which happened to be one of the hotspots of the protest, people are now going about their normal activities unhindered.

Also, business activities and Vehicular movement are gradually resuming in Akure metropolis with few shops and businesses opened even though some still stayed back home not sure that their businesses would not be attacked by hoodlums if they reopen

The state chairman NURTW, Jacob Adebo and some residents of Akure who thanked God that normalcy has now returned sued for peace by all categories of people.

The Speaker, Ondo state House of Assembly, Bamidele Oleyelogun and a former Deputy Governor in the state, Alhaji Lasisi Oluboyo appreciated the youth for embracing peace.

The chairman, All Progressives Congress, Ade Adetimehin implored the youth to sustain the returned peace saying govt will continue in its mandate to protect life and property.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Tee Leo Ikoro said a meeting has been held with all major stakeholders to ensure lasting peace in the state.

He enjoined the youth to be law abiding and give government a chance to act on their demands to improve the socio economic prospects of Ondo state and Nigeria at large.

During the visit it was observed that Akure is heavily littered with debris and it would do everyone a lot of good if relevant stakeholders swing into action immediately
