NPFL matches to be on television soon – Elegbeleye

The Chairman of Nigeria Premier Football League,NPFL, who doubles as Second Vice President of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Gbenga Elegbeleye has said Nigerians would have access to the League’s 2023/2024 season matches on the television soon.

While speaking with Orange FM in Akure, he said all hands are on deck to ensure that NPFL is accorded the right recognition in Nigeria and the World at large.

Gbenga Elegbeleye explained that his primary objectives is to transform the nation’s top flight league into a more professional and competitive platform by improving the league’s standard and overall management

He noted that implementation on various initiatives ranging from quality of facilities, upgrading the level of coaching and training, implementing strict licensing criteria for clubs, financing clubs, live NPFL matches among others have been put in place.

The NPFL Boss unveiled strategies used to foster transparency, ensure prompt payments to referees and match commissioners, attract partners and sponsors as well as eradicating the practice of game buying.

On the latest ranking of leagues by Confederation of African Football, CAF, that put NPFL in 12th position, Elegbeleye said the latest transformation in the league would change the tie in no distant time.

Also, on the poor performance of the representatives of Nigeria in CAF competitions, he said with optimal support and recruitment of quality players, the clubs would perform well.

He added that the NPFL board will continue to work tirelessly to improve the league’s standards, enhance fan experiences, and create opportunities for players and clubs to thrive.
