NPFL: Remo Stars Thrash 3SC In South West Derby, Akwa United Claim First Win



Sikiru Alimi bagged a brace as Remo Stars claimed bragging rights in the South West derby courtesy of a 3-0 win over Shooting Stars in Ikenne on Wednesday.

The forward scored his second of the game three minutes after the hour mark.

Shooting Stars are yet to beat Remo Stars on the road in the league.

At the Eket Stadium, Akwa United recorded their first win of the season after beating Gombe United

Former U-23 Eagles striker Kufre Ebong scored the decisive goal 10 minutes before the break.

Holders Enyimba held their hosts Niger Tornadoes to a 0-0 draw at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.

Former champions Kano Pillars thrashed Bayelsa United 3-0 at the Sani Abacha Stadium with Sani Mubarak, Rabiu Ali and Abba Adam scoring the goals for the Sai Masu Gida.

In Owerri, Heartland and Rivers United battled to a 1-1 draw.

Oyanakachi Okafor gave the hosts the lead on 18 minutes.

The visitors levelled through Farouk Mohammed 10 minutes before the break.
