In continuation of its drive to rid the Ondo state of destitutes and beggars, government has taken its campaign against the menace to Spiritual leaders,urging them to intensify efforts on moral teachings at worship centres.
The Senior special Assistant to the Governor on Women Affairs, Mrs Kehinde Adeniran urged religious institutions to always preach against Indolence, arms begging, thuggery and other irresponsible ways of life.
The Secretary of the Women affairs and social development, Mrs.Foluke Tunde- Daramola said the menace created by destitutes and social miscreants requires the collective responsibility of all.
Representative of the Christian Association of Nigeria,CAN,Reverend Father Anselm Ologunwa and his Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs Counterpart, Alhaji Abibulahi Akinpelumi appreciated the state government’s efforts at bringing sanity to the society.
They however called for resuscitation of the state chapter of the Nigeria inter-Religious council for more religious intervention in the state.
