ODSG’s directive on local vigilante gets blessing of christian leaders



Christian leaders in Ondo state have commended Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for his efforts to secure the state from criminals hiding in the forests.

In a statement after a meeting in Akure the leaders including State CAN Chairman,
Rev’d. Dr. John Ayo Oladapo; Catholic Bishop of Ondo diocese, Jude Arogundade and Bishop of Owo Anglican Diocese, Stephen Ayodeji lauded the governor for mandating all Local Government Chairmen to organize Local Vigilantes/Hunters to provide security in their areas

Others who signed the communiqué include Bishop Ajibodu of Ileoluji Anglican Diocese; Rev’d. Dr. Ajayi Obateru, President, Ondo State Baptist Conference; Methodist Bishop of Owo, Rt. Rev’d. Adegbite and Rt. Rev. Bada of Akoko Anglican Diocese.

They pleaded with all traditional rulers, religious and opinion leaders, as well as all stakeholders to cooperate with their Local Government Chairmen to ensure the successful implementation of this directive.

Also at the meeting were Rt. Rev’d. Stephen Adeniran Oni of Ondo Anglican Diocese and Venerable Blessing Aregbesola who represented Bishop Borokini of Akure Anglican Diocese.
