Ondo First Lady Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu Reaffirms Resolve To Lift Female Gender

The First Lady of Ondo state and Founder of Bemore Foundation Mrs Betty Anyawu-Akeredolu says her commitment to changing the fortunes of the female gender is borne out of a desire to draw out the potentials in them and support them to contribute to societal development.

At the 4th edition of BEMORE summer booth camp Mrs Anyawu-Akeredolu said she hopes to take the initiative to other parts of the country.

Oluseye Akinwalere reports that no fewer than 360 girls are participating.

The Bemore Empowered Initiative is one of the pet projects of wife of Ondo State Governor, aimed at developing the girl child.

The programme which commenced in 2017 has had over 1500 participants.

Mrs Anyanwu-Akeredolu noted that the girl child is a special breed who deserves all the support to excel in life and bring great transformation to the world

Member House of Representatives representing Akoko North East/West Constituency, Mr Bunmi Tunji-Ojo promised his support for the initiative.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Gender research and publicity who is also BEMORE welfare coordinator ,Mrs Temitope Daniyan said experienced hands are on ground to train the participants.

Others including Mrs Olawumi Ovworiole and Adewale Ayodeji lauded the first lady for her initiative saying it will go a long way in impacting the younger generation

Some Participants including those who have benefitted from the initiative described the programme as a blessing to young people.

This 4th edition is expected to equip the girls on Information Communication Technology, solar energy, making of hygienic liquid products, Arts and Design, tying of head gear, Cake Baking and make-up skills.

There was a health talk on the theme “Roadmap to Covid 19 Defeat, making use of Vaccination and other Pharmaceutical products.
