Ondo state Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has admonished Christians to intensify prayers for the nation and serve as tools for spiritual refinement irrespective of political or ethnic sentiments.
Governor Akeredolu gave the charge at the 45th anniversary of the Christian association of Nigeria and 2021 CAN award ceremony held in Akure, the state capital.
Government house correspondent, Gbenga Oluwajana reports that it was a platform for the Christian Association of Nigeria to honour people who have contributed to the growth of Christianity as well as development of the state and Nigeria at large.
Governor Akeredolu thanked the association for supporting national growth and assured of his determination to keep working to develop every sector of the stste’s economy.
Represented by his deputy, lucky Aiyedatiwa, the Governor appealed to Christians to continue in fervent prayers for the state.
On the menace of COVID 19, he called on the Christian body to assist government by adequately sensitizing the people on proper adherence to COVID 19 protocols and the importance of vaccination.
Earlier, the CAN chairman Ondo state chapter, Reverend John Oladapo charged Christians to be good ambassadors of Christ and make impact in every sector they find themselves.
Chairman of the Awards and honours planning committee, Pastor Moses Ajayi said the association is grateful to God for the success of the anniversary.
