Ondo Residents Optimistic Of Effectiveness Of Covid-19 Vaccines

Residents of Ondo state have expressed confidence in the effectiveness of the COVID-19 vaccine as they daily visit designated health centers to get vaccinated.

This follows the order of the state government which gave the residents a 2-week ultimatum to get vaccinated to gain access to public places including mosques and churches.

Orange FM’s Oluwanifemi Adebayo who visited some of the health centers designated for vaccination in Akure the state capital has an update report that a visit to the health centres showed that residents are eager to comply with the government’s directive on Covid19 vaccination.

The officer in charge of Covid19 vaccination at comprehensive primary health care centre, Oke Ijebu, Mrs Agnes Ajayi said the process is going smoothly and people are trooping in to get vaccinated and that Covid-19 is real and should not be handled with levity.

Also, the screening officer at Gbogi Isinkan ward, Mr Kayode Abimbola said people turn out for vaccination daily in large numbers while urging citizens to take it upon themselves to be vaccinated.

The Officer in charge at Isolo comprehensive health center, Mrs Oladunmiye Bamitale said despite the large number of people seeking to be vaccinated there have been no challenges.

Residents who have been vaccinated urged others to get the vaccination and disregard every rumour surrounding it.

Since the 1st of September about 900 people have been vaccinated at Obanla, Oke ijebu while over 2000 people have been vaccinated at gbogi isinkan ward.
