The Ondo State Government has lifted the 24 hour curfew earlier imposed in the wake of the hijack of the #EndSARS protests.

The Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Donlad Ojogo said the decision to lift the curfew follows consultations between the Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and security chiefs in the State after a preliminary assessment of the security situation.

Ojogo said the Governor was mostly encouraged by the relative peace in Akure, the State capital as well as the people’s resolve, especially the youths, not to allow brigandage under any guise any more

The statement affirmed the governor’s advise for all to be vigilant and law-abiding, more so, that security agencies deployed to strategic areas of the state capital are under strict directives to enforce law and order for permanent peace.
