Ondo State Ministry of works and infrastructure has expressed appreciation to it’s immediate past Permanent Secretary, Engr. Taiwo Otun who recently retired from the state civil service.
At the pen down ceremony organised in honour of the bureaucrat at the ministry’s premises in Akure, friends, family and well wishers extolled his virtues and noted that his selfless contributions to infrastructural development in the state will always be a reference point.
Otobot Jim reports that it was a well attended ceremony that had in attendance, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Olugbenga Ale, Head of service, Dare Aragbaiye, former commisioner for works, Saka Yusuf Ogunleye, retired and serving permanent secretaries, as well as religious and traditional leaders.
In his opening remarks, the Director of Finance and Administration in the Ministry, Rev. Somo Ogunlade said Engr Otun’s service to the state was impeccable.
The Immediate past Commissioner for works, Saka Yusuf- Ogunleye decribed his working relationship with Otun as cordial and productive.
The Chief of Staff to Governor Akeredolu, Chief Gbenga Ale expressed the hope that the outgone Permanent Secretary will remain a friend to the ministry considering his achievements while he was in service.
Oba Andrew Momodu, the Akala of Ikaram, Akoko urged the celebrant to uphold his good character even in retirement.
Some friends and well wishers at the event including Engr. Dorcas Akiwunmi emphasised that Engr. Otun was particular about impacting other people positively.
Conducting the pen down session, the Head of Service, Dare Aragbaye submitted that Engr. Otun was selfless in the discharge of his duties.
Responding, the honouree thanked all who found time to celebrate him.
His wife, Mrs. Otun said the family will forever be grateful to God and government of Ondo state.
Engr. Taiwo Otun who was born on the 3rd of March, 1960 started his working career in 1989 as a civil engineer with the Ondo state government, served in many capacities and rose to the position of Permanent Secretary.
