Reactions Trail ODSG’s Efforts To Enforce Use Of Pedestrian Bridge In Akure.

Diverse reactions have continued to trail the erection of concrete slabs on the median from Oja Oba to Post office axis which have forced residents to make use of the overhead bridge

Oluseye Akinwalere reports that the development is now paying off as passersby are now using the Pedestrian bridge while the former traffic Jam has reduced to the bearest minimum.

In previous times, motorists faced Herculean task plying through Oja Oba which is an antecedent effect of traders by the road sides, incessant crossing of roads by pedestrians

This has caused various construction on the median to reduce all forms of chaos on roads but the erected structures have been constantly vandalized

Now the Oja-Oba area in Akure the Ondo State Capital wears a new look with the concrete Jettty erected to primarily reduce traffic congestion and enforce the use of the pedestrian bridge.

While speaking on the issue, Some residents lauded infrastructural development as they admonished the government to keep the bridge tidy and safe for crossing at all times

Others however bemoaned the use of the bridge for various reasons.

By and large, the interest of the government is to provide succour to the people and they should therefore key to government regulations and interventions.
