Reconstruction: Eleyeowo road reaches 90 percent completion – Ondo Govt.

The ongoing reconstruction at Eleyeowo Road damaged by a midnight explosion in Akure North Local government area of Ondo state has reached 90 percent completion.

 

The state Commissioner for works and Infrastructure Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye who spoke with ORANGEFM in Akure said the road would soon be opened for public use.

 

The mid night explosion some weeks back left over 70 buildings destroyed and created a gully in the middle of the road along Eleyeowo Akure Owo Express way.

 

Despite being a federal road, The state ministry of works moved to site to fix the damaged portion of the road on the directive of  governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

 

It was gathered that work is ongoing just as the bridge and curvets are nearing completion.

 

Some motorists lauded governor Akeredolu for his quick intervention on the road saying contractor handling the project should ensure quick completion of the road.

 

Residents of the community said the governor has demonstrated uncommon passion for development.

 

Reacting on the level of work done , the state Commissioner for works and Infrastructure Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye  said the road would soon be opened for use.

 

The Commissioner said government was already looking at fixing the alternative route at Eleyeowo.

 

He assured that the present administration is poised to deliver on all  its electoral promises to the people.
