Nigerians have been encouraged to report COVID-19 infection early to facilitate treatment and recovery.
Ondo state Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu while speaking with journalists in Akure assured that health workers in the state are competent and more than ready to save lives.
The governor who noted that additional measures have been taken to strengthen the standard national response protocols to the spread said they include monitoring all entry points and blocking illegal routes into the state as well as restricting the operations of the main and community markets towards enforcing social and physical distancing.
According to the governor, the goal is to stop imported cases and community transmission, both of which have been identified as the main sources of the spread in the State.
While thanking the people for their substantial compliance with government’s regulations despite disruption of their ways of life and economic livelihood imposed by the deadly pandemic, the governor thanked the security agencies for their sense of focus, professionalism & discretion.
