Security agencies task citizens on vigilance during yuletide

As the Yuletide approaches, security agencies in Ondo State have promised effective collaboration to ensure peaceful celebrations.

The security agencies called for co-operation of the people to achieve the objective.

Orange FM’S OTOBOT JIM reports that the festive period is always a time where people’s ambitions are on the high side, increasing desperation for material things and consequently crime.

This explains why security agencies must redouble efforts to ensure a crime-free celebration.

Assuring of the Preparedness of the state police Command, the image maker ,Tee leo Ikoro said the command has put in place comprehensive strategies for crime-free Christmas and New Year celebrations.

He advised residents to go about their lawful businesses without fear of molestation.

While reading the riot act to anyone who may want to disturb the peace being enjoyed in the state, Mr.Ikoro cautioned members of the public to be vigilant, celebrate with moderation and monitor suspicious persons around them.

On his part, the spokesperson for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps ,Femi Omole posited that the organization will continue to work with other security agencies to prevent crime, calling on the public to adopt security measures before, during and after the celebrations.

Speaking in the same vein, the sector commander of the Federal Road Safety in Corps Ondo state, Ahmed Hassan said the command is poised to ensure that traffic rules and regulations are strictly adhered to by road users.

Mr. Hassan warned motorists against overloading and over speeding..

It is a general belief that residents will heed all security and safety measures seriously so that the yuletide will be a period of real joy.
