Senate Gives Deadline Of Two Months For Nigeria To Secure Peace

Senate President Ahmad Lawan, has given a two-month timeline for the country to achieve a more secure and peaceful environment.

The Senate President gave the reassurance in an interview with Newsmen after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari in his office at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Speaking on the target to restore peace and security in the shortest possible time, the Senate President said government is doing everything possible to secure all parts of the country and ensure that peace returns before the rainy season sets in so that farmers and others can go about their normal lives in a secure environment.

He said the National Assembly would complement efforts to upgrade the Armed Forces by helping with the appropriation for the required equipment.
