A Special Holy Communion and thanksgiving service has been held for the 65th Birthday for Ondo State Governor and Chancellor of Owo Anglican Diocese, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu at the Chapel of Epiphany in the governor’s residence at Owo.
Orange FM’s Olumide Adeluwoye reports that it was a service dedicated to thanking God for His mercies upon the Governor.
In his sermon, Bishop of Owo Anglican Diocese, Rt. Revd. Stephen Fagbemi who spoke on the theme “What shall we render unto the Lord for all His benefits” said God always fulfils His promises to man stressing that the Lord never abandons his own people in times of need.
He charged Governor Akeredolu never to be too comfortable that he would fail to pray, praise and serve God who has kept him thus far.
Bishop Fagbemi congratulated Governor Akeredolu for clocking another year in God’s grace, faithfulness and goodness.
In his remarks Governor Akeredolu said God has been kind to him and he cannot deny it.
On the state of the nation he said his strong belief is that when there is life there is hope, and things will change positively for the nation soon.
APC Chairman, Ade Adetimehin and former Commissioner for Agriculture, Gboyega Adefarati among others charged the Governor to continue with his good works at changing the narrative of the state.
A birthday cake was cut and prayers were offered for Governor Akeredolu, his family and Ondo State.
Dignitaries who attended the event include the Deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa; Secretary to Government, Princess Oladunni Odu; Chief of Staff, Olugbenga Ale; First Female Senior Advocate Of Nigeria, Folake Sholanke, Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye; Chairman OSRC Media Group, Mr. Kunle Adebayo and other top governmment functionaries, Family, friends, children and grand children of Governor Akeredolu.
