Twitter Ban: Nigeria loses N247.61bn in 100 days

Nigeria has lost N247.61bn as a result of the Twitter ban which has extended to 100 days.

Recall that the Federal Government suspended Twitter on 4th June after it platform deleted a tweet by President, Muhammadu Buhari .

Following this, telcos blocked Nigerians’ access to Twitter on 5th June owing to a directive by the Nigerian Communications Commission.

According to the NetBlocks Cost of Shutdown Tool, the blockade costs Nigeria’s economy N103.17m ($250,600) every hour.

It has been 2,400 hours since the FG banned the social media handle.
