US Open Champ,Raducanu Now World



British teenager and new US open champion Emma Raducanu is now world number 23 after moving up 127 places following her stunning victory at the Grand Slam event

The 18-year-old laid the record of being the first player to emerge from qualifying to win a Grand Slam tournament after she edging past 19-year-old Canadian Leylah Fernandez, 6-4, 6-3 on Saturday.

Fernandez also moved from 45th to 28th place for her passage to the final with a rise of 45 places to 28th.

Former world number one Naomi Osaka, who fell to Fernandez has said she is taking a break as she drops to fifth place while Bianca Andreescu, the winner of the tournament two years agoon number 13, is now on 20 after she was knocked out in the fourth round this year.

The 17-year-old American Cori Gauff now moves to the top 20, seeded 19th.
