All candidates in last Saturday’s Governorship election in Ondo state need to put the results behind them and recomit to the Ondo state development project which requires that every citizen should daily make a contribution to its advancement

A Civil Society Organisation, Yiaga Africa, while assessing the election noted that it was a No Victor, No vanquished contest.

Co chair of the organization Mr Nwagwu who urged Governor Akeredolu to be magnanimous in victory also recommended better training for election-day INEC ad-hoc officials.

He said although there were issues around ballot counting in a few places, the infractions never undermined the integrity of the process.

Nwagwu commended INEC for its efforts to improve on the electoral process and ensure compliance with the COVID-19 protocols.

He urged the National Assembly to accelerate reforms to the Electoral Act to legalize the effective deployment of technological tools towards promoting citizen’s participation and enhancing transparency in the electoral process.
