Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has described the late Yoruba leader and elder statesman, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, as an epitome of humility, kindness and wisdom whose contributions to society transcended generations.
Orange FM’s Olumide Adeluwoye reports that the governor stated this during a condolence visit to the family of the deceased in Akure, where he described Pa Fasoranti as a nationalist who contributed immensely to the development of individuals and Ondo State.
Aiyedatiwa described the death of the elder statesman as a personal loss, recalling his wise counsel and support during his political challenges as Deputy Governor.
He also recalled his last encounter with Pa Fasoranti on the eve of his centenary birthday, noting the late leader’s continued interest in governance and public affairs.
The governor eulogised Pa Fasoranti for his humility, kindness, resilience and commitment to service, urging Nigerians to uphold these virtues and emulate his dedication to humanity.
Responding on behalf of the family, the Secretary to the Ondo State Government, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, thanked Governor Aiyedatiwa and other sympathisers for their support and solidarity.
Dr. Fasoranti said the family was celebrating the life and legacy of their patriarch, recalling that the late elder statesman had often expressed his readiness to depart whenever God called him after attaining the age of 100.
He described his late father as a man of integrity, humility and love who was deeply committed to his family and the service of humanity.
The SSG added that the family would continue to cherish the values instilled in them by the deceased, while praying for the strength and wisdom to sustain his enduring legacy.
