The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council has created a new Directorate of Stage Organisation and Management and reshuffled the leadership of its Women Mobilisation Directorate ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
In a statement on Tuesday, the council’s Secretary and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, announced the appointment of Farouk Adamu Aliyu as Director of the new directorate, with Adejare Bello as Co-Director.
Dr Mary Aille Idele was named Director of the Women Mobilisation Directorate, with Dr Betta Edu as Deputy Director and Imaan Suleman as Secretary.
The council said the changes were aimed at strengthening its organisational structure, improving coordination and enhancing mobilisation efforts in support of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Meanwhile, the Director-General of the council, Abdulaziz Yari, has directed all directorates to develop and submit work plans detailing how they intend to execute their responsibilities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking after the first inaugural meeting of the directorates at the Presidential Campaign Office in Abuja, Yari said members had been entrusted with responsibilities by the President and must justify the confidence reposed in them.
He added that the council was engaging traditional rulers to seek their blessings and explain its plans ahead of the election.
Yari disclosed that the next engagement with traditional rulers would take place in Kaduna on October 24, 2026, as preparations continue towards the January 16, 2027 presidential election.
