Scottish police have joined an international law enforcement operation targeting online gangs accused of grooming and coercing children into acts of self-harm.
Detectives are pursuing members of loosely organised online networks known as The Com, which reportedly target girls through gaming platforms and social media.
The groups, largely made up of teenage boys and young adult men, have gained prominence in recent years over cases involving sextortion, hacking and the encouragement of self-harm.
So far, one arrest has been made in Scotland, while several convictions have been secured in England.
The Molly Rose Foundation, a suicide prevention charity supporting young people and families affected by the networks, has described the groups as posing one of the gravest threats to children online.
