President Donald Trump has intensified his campaign efforts in the final weekend before the United States midterm elections, seeking to secure Republican control of Congress.

Trump held rallies in Florida, Iowa and Kansas, states he had previously won, as Republicans stepped up efforts to defend their congressional majority ahead of Tuesday’s elections.

During the rallies, the US President sought to address voters’ concerns over rising living costs, particularly fuel prices, while shifting attention to the Democrats.

He warned that families could face financial hardship if Democrats gained control of Congress.

However, opinion polls indicate that Democrats have a strong opportunity to gain at least partial control of Congress, a development that could strengthen legislative checks on Trump’s administration and reshape the final two years of his presidency.
