The Ondo State Government has commenced the distribution of appointment letters to 637 newly absorbed teachers who were affected by lapses in the 2025 teachers’ recruitment exercise.
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa had earlier promised to absorb qualified candidates affected by the irregularities in the recruitment process.
The Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board, Princess Olufunmilayo Ademulegun-Brown, presented the appointment letters to the beneficiaries in Akure.
She urged the teachers to see their absorption as an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the development of the state’s education sector, stressing the importance of punctuality, commitment and ethical conduct in the discharge of their duties.
The Permanent Secretary of ODSUBEB, Princess Abike Bayo-Ilawole, advised the newly employed teachers to familiarise themselves with the Board’s operational guidelines and comply strictly with established rules and regulations.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs Omotayo Arogbowei expressed appreciation to the state government for giving them the opportunity to serve in the education sector.
