BURNA BOY REVEALS TONI BRAXTON TAKES 60% OF ‘LAST LAST’ STREAMING ROYALTIES

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Burna Boy, has revealed that American singer Toni Braxton receives 60 per cent of the streaming royalties from his hit song, Last Last.

Burna Boy disclosed this during an appearance on the American podcast, Million Dollaz Worth of Game, hosted by Gillie Da King and Wallo267.

The singer explained that sampling Braxton’s 2000 hit song, He Wasn’t Man Enough, was his idea, while Nigerian music producer, Chopstix, helped bring the concept to life.

Speaking on the royalty arrangement, Burna Boy said Braxton receives 60 per cent of the song’s streaming royalties, stressing that he has no issue with the agreement.

He, however, clarified that the arrangement applies strictly to streaming royalties and does not cover the song’s entire earnings.

Despite the revenue-sharing agreement, the singer revealed that Last Last had generated more money for him than any other song in his career at the time.

Released in May 2022, Last Last became one of Burna Boy’s biggest international hits, gaining widespread recognition for its sample of Braxton’s He Wasn’t Man Enough, which won her a Grammy Award in 2001.
