The Super Falcons of Nigeria have defeated Comoros 2-0 in the first leg of their second-round qualifier for the 2028 Olympic Games.

Michelle Alozie and Uchenna Kanu scored in the second half to give Nigeria a two-goal advantage ahead of Tuesday’s return leg.

The match, played on Friday at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, was officially designated as Comoros’ home fixture. Both legs of the tie are being staged in Nigeria because Comoros lacks a Confederation of African Football-approved venue.

The Super Falcons created several scoring opportunities in the first half, with captain Rasheedat Ajibade coming close to breaking the deadlock when her effort struck the woodwork.

However, Comoros defended resolutely to keep the score level at half-time.
