Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has urged political groups supporting the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the 2027 general elections to align with the government and party structures to ensure effective mobilisation, security and peaceful campaigns.
Orange FM’s Olumide Adeluwoye reports that Aiyedatiwa made the call in Akure during the inauguration of the Ondo State chapter of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement and the unveiling of 26 campaign vehicles for grassroots mobilisation across the state’s 26 constituencies.
The governor, who earlier received members of the movement at the Presidential Lodge of the Government House, commended the convener for expanding the initiative from Delta State to all 36 states of the federation.
He said the movement’s grassroots mobilisation strategy would help address voter apathy and encourage greater participation in the electoral process.
The convener of the movement, Senior High Chief Government Tompolo, represented by Chief Kestin Pondi, said the initiative was designed to educate residents on the need to support President Tinubu in the January 16, 2027 presidential election.
He added that the movement would mobilise voters at the grassroots to sustain the administration’s policies and consolidate its achievements.
The campaign train later visited the Council of Obas Secretariat, where the Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye, spoke on behalf of traditional rulers.
Addressing supporters and APC faithful at Democracy Park in Akure, Governor Aiyedatiwa reaffirmed his commitment to supporting groups working towards President Tinubu’s re-election.
He urged members of the movement to conduct their activities peacefully and collaborate with the party leadership to achieve their objectives.
The Ondo State APC Chairman, Kolawole Babatunde, said the party had established structures across the state to secure massive votes for President Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
