Political leaders, government officials, traditional rulers and other prominent Nigerians have continued to visit the Akure residence of the late elder statesman, Pa Reuben Famuyide Fasoranti, to commiserate with his family.
Orange FM’s Oluseye Akinwalere reports that a condolence register has also been opened at the residence, providing visitors an opportunity to pay tribute to the late Afenifere leader and reflect on his contributions to society.
Among the dignitaries who visited was the Chief Imam of Akure, Sheikh Abdul Hakeem Yayi-Akorede, who described the loss as a moment of grief for the family and those who knew the deceased.
A scholar, Dr Goke Adegoroye, said Pa Fasoranti played an important role in bringing people together and advancing their interests.
Similarly, the ADC Ondo Central Senatorial District candidate, Ayo Akinyelure, expressed solidarity with the family and prayed for God’s guidance in providing leaders who would sustain the late elder statesman’s legacy of humility and service.
The Commissioner of Police in Ondo State, Felix Ohagwu, described Pa Fasoranti as a strong pillar whose contributions to the state would be greatly missed, noting that his death had created a significant vacuum.
The condolence visits reflect Pa Fasoranti’s influence on the political and social life of the country, as Nigerians continue to honour his memory and celebrate his contributions to education, democracy and the Yoruba nation.
